The Beyond Bacchus Experience

It all started when…

… I realized that the most transformative leadership moments often happen outside of the “office” (however you define office).  As an executive coach, I witnessed countless leaders navigating complex challenges through traditional approaches to leadership development which are often effective, but not as creative and lively as my soul would like them to be.  I began searching for a new way to break free from conventional thinking, embrace creativity, and truly savor the process of personal growth.

One evening, while enjoying a glass of wine, it struck me—wine itself holds deep parallels to leadership.  Just as a fine wine is shaped by its environment, nurtured through time, and perfected through balance, so too are great leaders.  That realization opened the door to something bigger: what if I could create an experience that blends the art and culture of wine with the discipline of leadership?

From that moment, the concept of Beyond Bacchus was born.  I envisioned a space where leaders could escape the usual grind, engage with something sensory and profound, and challenge themselves to think differently. The world of wine (viticulture, enology, tasting, paring with foods, etc…) became the perfect metaphor—a way to explore balance, patience, refinement, and vision, all while creating an environment of reflection and discovery.

Beyond Bacchus is more than just exploring leadership through another lens; it’s an experience that invites leaders to slow down, savor the journey, and learn to lead with intentionality and creativity. The fusion of wine and leadership growth became an answer to pushing beyond traditional boundaries—and it all started with that one glass of wine and a desire to deconstruct and redefine what leadership development could be.
